Entrepreneurship involves bringing something really novel to the world, whose market never exists. Entrepreneurs become businessman over a period of time (if their start up hits a jackpot). But this does not mean that entrepreneurship is a destination where you get lot of wealth. No. Entrepreneurship is a journey. A journey where individual(s) risk everything: their career, family, finances, and I can go on and on. You can read the Entrepreneurship Series to know more about it. Most of the time entrepreneurs fail is because either they don’t get proper funding or they lack the experience. This is where they require mentoring, i.e. guidance from some industry experts who can guide them in the right direction.
My city Nagpur also houses many budding entrepreneurs. But being a Tier II city, Nagpur has certain limitations and sometimes it does affect the entrepreneurs. But not any more. I am very happy that TiE is coming to Nagpur. TiE is a non-profit organization that helps budding entrepreneurs to showcase their strength by providing them a platform. The stage is set when TiE would be starting their Nagpur chapter on February 2. Dr. C.K. Prahalad would be coming to Nagpur to deliver a presentation, which I feel should be a great motivator for the local entrepreneurs.
I remember the last time I met Dr. Prahalad in 2007, he told me that India can become the super-power in the next 10 years, provided we strengthen our education system and stop neglecting the rural part of the country. He has been a great supporter of entrepreneurship and helps many people around the world by guiding them. I would like to thank all the people who worked hard to start TiE Nagpur chapter and urge the local entrepreneurs to make good use of this opportunity.
