Loop holes in security system at Nagpur

Telangkhedi lake

On 12/02/2011, at about 1815 hrs., I was sitting on the wall of the Telangkhedi lake, alongwith my friend. Another couple was sitting near us, on the same wall. Suddenly, a boy aged about 20-25 yrs., came running on the said wall. He missed me but his leg hit the other girl (the couple) and he fell, into the lake. Nothing happened to him as he knew swimming but had he hit me and had I fell into the lake, the result would have been fatal, as I do not know swimming. The security people – two from Shree Agencies- did nothing to stop the boy. They were not carrying any Identity Card and did not have the phone number of their Superior.

I rang up the Police Control on 100, at about 1830 hrs.. They gave me the number of the Ambazari Police Station & asked me to inform them. I informed the Ambazari Police Station about the incident and requested them to send someone to the spot but till 2030 hrs., nobody from the Police Station turned up.

I fail to understand, how a person can be allowed to endanger the lives of other citizens? and why the Security Personnel have been posted at the lake, if they cannot stop such, potentially fatal, activities?

The attitude of the Ambazari Police Station is also beyond comprehension. Is not the Police for the Security and Safety of the Ordinary People? And the Ordinary People are accused of not informing the Police!

Are the law-abiding citizens, at the mercy of such truant persons, at such places created specifically for their peaceful recreation ? or should the citizens stop visiting all such places?

Will the concerned Authorities wake up, only after some innocent person becomes a victim?
