Feedback Ventures, an infrastructure services company, has announced, today, that the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has engaged it for assisting pre-developmental activities such as technical studies, fuel linkage, environment clearance, selection of the private developer, etc. to develop 500 MW coal-based thermal power plant near Nagpur. The assignment is expected to be completed in eight to ten months; at the end of which, the implementation would be handed over to the selected private sector developer.

India soyoil, oilseeds end up on global cues, demand
MUMBAI, Dec 22 (Reuters) - India soyoil futures edged up on Monday as demand in spot perked up due to reduced supplies from crushers and on gains in rivals Malaysian palm oil and U.S. soyoil.
Spot prices in trading hub Nagpur in central India rose 0.85 percent to 473 rupees per 10 kg.
"Industry is hoping for imposition of import duty on crude palm oil. This is supporting soyoil market," Raj Kishore Baruah, an analyst in Sushil Global Commodities Pvt, said.
Prices of substitues soyoil and palm oil often move in tandem.

BJP national executive meet to be held in Nagpur
New Delhi: The BJP on Monday announced that the party's national executive meeting would be held in Nagpur in January.
"The BJP will hold its national executive meeting on January 23, 24 and 25 in Nagpur," BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
On choosing Nagpur as the venue, Naqvi said, "It is an important town and the assembly elections in Maharashtra are slated soon after the Lok Sabha polls are held in April-May next year."
"The party cadre demanded that this should be the venue for the next meet," Naqvi added.

Man suspected of links with Delhi blasts held in Nagpur
Nagpur The Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Nagpur police has arrested a man from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh at the railway station here on Sunday and claim he is linked to the Delhi blasts.
“The police had intelligence inputs that Talha Aamir (22) was travelling by the Patna-Secunderabad Express. They arrested him around 10.30 pm,” police sources said.

NCP Maharashtra unit chief resigns
Mumbai (PTI): Nationalist Congress Party's Maharashtra unit chief Arun Gujarathi resigned on Sunday, paving the way for election of the new state president.
"I have submitted my resignation to the party president Sharad Pawar. My term is over," Gujarathi told PTI.
Gujarathi said the Nationalist Congress Party is likely to elect its new president during the party's scheduled meeting at Nagpur on December 23.
"The committee is meeting on December 23...It is likely to elect new state unit president," Gujarathi, also the former speaker of Maharashtra, said.

Project-hit force Mihan shutdown
NAGPUR: Work at the Multimodal International Hub at Nagpur (Mihan) was once again stopped by local residents demanding better compensation for
their land being acquired for the project. The work was stopped last year too during the same period by the residents of the Khapri, Telhara and nearby villages led by BJP MLA Chandrashekhar Bawankule. It was resumed almost a week later after a truce mediated by state BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

Chavan for effective implementation of farmers' packages
Nagpur, Dec 20: Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Saturday directed authorities to effectively implement the special packages to bail out farmers in Vidarbha region.
Reviewing implementation of the bailout package for farmers of the region, which has witnessed suicides by many of them, Chavan said 92 percent of the Prime Minister's special package for farmers was implemented while that of state government's package, 112 percent was already spent.
