Starbus service for rly staff!

NAGPUR: In a major step for employees of Central Railway, Nagpur division, the divisional railway manager (DRM) Ashwani Kumar Kapoor has
initiated a bus service right from the doorsteps of the employees at Ajni Railway colony to the DRM office on Kingsway.

The bus departs from Ajni quarters at 9 am and reaches DRM office at 9.30 am. The best part is that the bus picks up staffers from inside the colony, it then goes via Kamble Chowk, Dhantoli police station, Shani Mandir, railway bridge to reach DRM office. On the return trip, the bus leaves the DRM office at 6 pm.

Railway employees have expressed joy over the new facility. “It’s for the first time that we are getting such a transport facility, that too at our doorsteps. Till now, we used to spend a lot on petrol. Now we have to pay only Rs 12 for a 4 km to & fro journey, which is dirt cheap,” remarked some employees.

A physically-employee said, “I had to ask for a lift from colleagues. Now, this facility is a god-send for me.”
Many class IV employees said, “Owing to high cost of petrol, it was not always affordable to go by a vehicle to office. Now we cut on our fuel costs,” The bus timings are also perfect, they added.

The bus service is the second major step initiated by Kapoor after the employees’ welfare fund.
