City girl makes her way to fashion world

‘Parineeta’, the name reminds us of the sensuous yet sweet Vidya Balan in her debut film, and ‘a simply beautiful girl’ is how all will describe Nagpur’s Parineeta once the Westside yearly calendar is out for all to see.

This twenty-year-old girl has done the city proud as she too appears on the Westside yearly calendar 2008 with city lad Piyush Wankhede. Parineeta Niwal, a third year student of Priyadarshini College of Architecture, is all smiles for the camera as she poses for the different themes on the Westside calendar. “The camera and the ramp was not a new experience for me, as I have done lots of local shows for INIFD, as well as done photo shoots with professional photographer Rahul Dutta,” said the Santoor Miss Maharashtra 2007 winner, who has already done a few shows in Mumbai and Pune, and had a stint walking the ramp with Anupama Verma. With so much already in her kitty, does the thought of moving her base to Mumbai and concentrating fully on Modeling as a career ever come to her? “Well, I do shows in Nagpur and even go outside but only when its confirmed, and if I am free from college. I don’t give it priority over my studies. Right now I find it lucrative but I know that as for everything in life, the modeling profession also has an expiry date. And this is such a profession that the expiry date comes pretty early in life. So it’s best to have a professional degree in hand so that you can always fall back on something in your kitty if things do not work out in this world of glamour. I enjoy modeling, but will not give up everything for it,” grinned Parineeta. She believes that ‘The MTV Westside Style Showdown’ auditions that happened in the city on 23rd October got her noticed. She also won Miss photogenic for that show which happened in November; and was later informed that she has been short listed for the calendar. “This year has really been bright for my modeling career,” quipped the budding model. The Westside photo shoot taught her a lot regarding her own potential. In a shoot with Vicky Idnani; the photographer who has clicked and captured many celeb moments, Parineeta and her modeling partners had to pose like ‘bats’; and unlike the popularly conceived notion of the smaller city people lagging behind, she gave the best pose and posture with the needed attitude. “It was like a price winning moment for me, doing something better that professional models from the metros, and being praised in front of everyone really put me on a different high,” she confessed. “I really keep looking through all the fashion and entertainment magazines, to see how the models pose; their dresses; expressions its like my practical class and of course a cherished hobby,” she expressed when asked to reveal the secret behind her perfect act. The pack up of this shoot is done and with this we raise own hopes to see Parineeta on the Kingfisher calendar (amen)!
