This year Nagpur Shree Kashi Math & Shree Venkatesh Balaji Mandir, Khapri are celebrating the 5th Varadanti Diwas function on 30th March 2012. Since last year this important event is celebrated by GSB Sabha, Nagpur by organizing a fund raising cultural program to promote Indian Sangeet traditions & for the maintenance of the Balaji Mandir. The previous years program was a Sumananjali to Late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and his immemorable Ragas & Bhajans were performed by his Shishya Pandit Upendra Bhat. Several young emerging artists of Nagpur City were given a stage to show their singing talent on the same theme on this occasion.
This year this program will be organized on a grand scale to celebrate 5 years of the Math-Mandir`s existence in the form of a Souvenir Booklet. The Sangeet Samaroh theme will be Sumananjali to Late Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki whose immense contribution to Hindustani Classical Sangeet, Bhajan and Natya Sangeet are iconic! His deserving Shishya Devaki Pandit who is one of today’s top performers in Shastriya Gayan platform has consented to perform on this occasion.
