Nagpur-based Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealer s Welfare Association (VCMDWA) is all set to run a campaign to generate awareness, about the usage of legal software among corporate and home users.
Talking about this initiative, Prashant Ugemuge, president of VCMDWA, said that the association is at the initial stage of finalizing its plans. To look after this campaign, it has set up a committee comprising the newly elected executive members.
Adding to this, Virendra Patrikar, secretary of VCMDWA explained that the association s objective is to promote original software, which includes the Operating System (OS), anti-virus, and other essential packaged software. For this, it s in talks with respective vendors. The response from vendors is positive, but a formal agreement with them is awaited.
Along with this, VCMDWA also plans to generate awareness through hoardings. Initially, the association will have 10-15 hoardings across the town. Additionally, the association also plans to conduct seminars that will help impart commercial and technical education to its customers.
To generate awareness, the association will send out emails to its clients, which include corporate and government organizations, and SMEs. The association has a database of around 4,000 customers and is hopeful of getting a positive feedback.
VCMDWA currently has 110 members as part of the association, headed by an executive body comprising 8 members.
