Milk prices up by Re 1/litre in city
NAGPUR: After Delhi, Mumbai and other cities, two private milk producers Dinshaw’s and Amul have increased the price of milk in Nagpur.
However, the government milk scheme has maintained the price level. The revised price of cow milk is Rs 24 per litre compared to Rs 23 earlier. Toned buffalo milk is now Rs 28 per litre and while full cream one Rs 29, said Jitendra Nighot, a vendor in Gandhi Nagar.
These rates are also Re 1 per litre more than earlier. AR Pajankar, officiating general manager, Government Milk Scheme, and dairy development officer (Nagpur), confirmed that private suppliers had increased the prices. The officer informed that Nagpur district requires over 6 lakh litres of milk every day.
