During his visit, Bagwe decided to inspect the jail kitchen and tasted the food. He is learnt to have told the jail authorities that he would be conducting surprise visits anythime.
"The food was not up to the mark," said Bagwe, who was present in the jail to distribute awards to the inmates who had cleared the Gandhian thoughts and wisdoms examination. "The roti was uneatable and so was the dal which was like water," said he while speaking to TOI.
"I will come here (central jail) and see again," said Bagwe underlining his intention to pay surprise visit to the central jail in near future. "The food should have been provided as per the standard and guidelines mentioned in the jail manuals," said Bagwe who also learnt to have reprimanded the officials regarding poor kitchen management and food quality.
