The new year started on a happy note with new dreams and goals. The city temperature is giving nagpurians goosebumps as it is getting colder and colder. Rashmi Priya, Founder and Corporate trainer at Attitude School conducted personality development training program at Nagpur Municipal Corporation for Auditors of 6 districts of Vidarbha region on 3rd and 4th December 2012. Topics which were covered in training were Human Relations, Positive thinking, Self Image and Motivation. On first day of training Human Relations and Positive thinking was covered and second day of training comprised of Self Image and Motivation. The program was successfully conducted by her.

Living with any addict is difficult and strenuous experience. It can affect an individual physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In situations where the individuals don't understand the disease of addiction it can make the circumstances even worse. Often family members of drug or alcohol addicts go through a lot of painful feelings as they struggle with their loved ones’ addiction.

On the concluding morn of Durgapuja, Khanan, the creative little magazine of the city mourns the untimely demise of legend Editor of the cult little magazine Kirtibas and the prominent poet and novelist of the decade Sri Sunil Gangopadhyay. Sri Gangopadhyay was a regular reader of Khanan and his intimate association with Khanan was remembered in the book stall of Khanan. Few days back the festive issue of ‘Khanan’, had been released during Debipaksha 1419. The rich volume of Khanan, 32nd of its kind, has been ably edited by Sukumar Choudhuri.

Dr Gopal Arora, a well known ophthalmologist, will recieve Dr V K Chitnis award from Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society (MOS). He is the first person from Vidarbha to receive this award. MOS consists of around 2500 ophthalmologists across Maharashtra state. Dr Gopal Arora is also the director of Akshar Eye Institute, located at Indora Chowk in Nagpur Dr V K Chitnis award is given in Maharashtra state to ophthalmologist who has contributed in clinical and scientific areas of Ophthalmology

A 50 years old woman from Nagpur city has donated stem cells to a needy 40 year old blood cancer patient in UK. This is one of its kind case in India. The whole process was monitored by Chennai-based NGO called - "Datri" Datri is creating a global database of potential donors that can be accessed by any patient suffering from disorders such as leukemia and lymphoma and need stem cell transplant.
