Radio in Nagpur is about to get sizzling hot as Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM will be formally launched any time now, with crystal clear test signals already spicing up the airwaves and generating quite a buzz.
Entertainment Network (India) Limited (ENIL), broadcasts Radio Mirchi in 24 other Indian cities. Loaded with the latest Bollywood music, with the tadka of several contests, games, cricket, stock and traffic updates, chat shows and a lot more, Nagpur's all-Hindi Radio Mirchi will presented with a Nagpuri touch.
Said station head Raag Agrawal, "It will be a sunshine channel, which will have a lot more to it than music.'' The content, said Agrawal, will be entirely relevant to Nagpur and will reflect the emotions, aspirations and happenings of the city.
"Our radio jockeys will intersperse their compering with what's going on in the city during that time. They will give voice to current talking points,'' Agrawal said. What's more, Radio Mirchi will also have a Nagpur-based character, a mascot of sorts, called Shahna Shinde. The RJs too are mostly from the city and know the pulse of the people, Agrawal added.
