Three youths were killed on the spot when their speeding motorbike rammed into a stationary truck on Sunday midnight at Dodki diversion, near Watfali village on Ner-Amravati road.

According to police sources, the trio - Bhushan Bansod (25), Bhimrao Nevare (27) and Sandeep Sahebrao Khadate (18) of Babhulgaon tehsil of Yavatmal district - were going on their bike (MH-27-G-8881) after having a "devi darshan" at Khandala village.

The truck (CG-04-C-4897) was parked on road side near the diversion and the bike riders could not see it in darkness. Thus, the bike rammed into the stationary truck and the collision was so great that all three were thrown away and killed on the spot.

The deceased trio, all bachelors, had set out on their bike from Babhulgaon, where they attended a 'pooja' and village fair, to Manikwada. On their way back, they worshipped the Goddess at Khandala village. It was a dark night and they were in high spirit and could not notice the truck.

Also nobody was there to save them and they died sans any human help. Later, the cops on patrolling noticed the youths lying in pool of blood and reported the matter to Ner police station. Then Ner police rushed to the spot and conducted the panchnama and sent the bodies for autopsy. The police have registered an offence of accidental death and further investigation is on.

In Chandrapur, three persons were killed and one other was seriously injured in two different mishaps. As per reports, a truck (MH-31-CB-6765) laden with cement bags overturned near Nandori river bridge, some 8 kms from Warora, on Nagpur-Chandrapur road on Monday afternoon.

Among the trio sitting in the truck's cabin Sheikh Jakir Sheikh Rasul Jilani (25), resident of Ghugus, was killed on the spot whereas other two - Annaji Bawane (60) and truck driver Sheikh Israil - were seriously injured.

They were rushed to Chandrapur civil hospital for emergency treatment. However, Bawane was declared dead on admission at the hospital. The condition of driver Sheikh is said to be critical. Warora police have registered the incident under various sections and further investigation is underway.

In yet another incident, one Antaram Dhore (70), a resident of Paradgaon village in Bramhapuri tehsil, died of injuries sustained during an accident on Sunday morning. A speeding truck rammed him near his village while he was heading to Bramhapuri on his bicycle.

He was rushed to Nagpur after primary treatment at private hospital in Bramhapuri, but he breathed his last en route to Nagpur in the evening. Bramhapuri police have arrested the truck driver Ravindra Devade and further probe is underway.
