Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, is an autonomous engineering college under the University of Nagpur, Maharashtra. It is located in Nagpur city in Hingna. The college was established in 1984 and is named after Yashwantrao Chavan, first Chief Minister of Maharashtra state and the former Deputy Prime Minister of India. The current principal of the institute is Dr. U.P Waghe. The college attained the autonomous status by University Grants Commission (India) in 2010 . The college was found and since has been under the administration of Nagar Yuwak Shikshan Sanstha, a subsidiary of Meghe GroupThe college is guided by the Academic Advisory Board consisting of eminent academicians from the prestigious technical institutes in India and USA. The college is having well qualified and experienced senior faculty members.
YCCE is the first private engineering college to acquire “Autonomous Status” in Central India. The institute has implemented autonomy in progressive manner from academic session 2010-11. The students admitted to B.E. and M. Tech. Courses from academic session 2010-11 onward were under autonomy. In February 2016, UGC committee visited YCCE for granting Extension of Autonomy and UGC vide its letter No.22-1/2016(AC) dated 9th March, 2016 granted Extension of Autonomy from Academic Session 2016-17 to 2021-22.
First batch of Autonomous Seven UG Programs and three batches of PG Programs, the First Graduation Day Ceremony held on 27.06.2015. Second Graduation Day Ceremony, for batch 2014-15, was held on 25.06.2016. As on today, three batches of UG Program and five batches of PG program have been successfully completed under autonomy.
To ensure the quality education, YCCE always go through the accreditation process of National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
