Usage of plastic bags less than 50 microns has been banned all over India. The government has requested shopkeepers and the general public to use jute bags or cloth bags instead of plastic bags. This initiative has been done to save our planet earth from polluting. The shopkeepers or local vegetable sellers keep plenty of plastic bags which are less than 50 microns as they are cheap and can help carry the sold vegetables.

We celebrate New Year, birthdays, marriage anniversaries, Anti Tobacco Day and World Environment day. But there is a difference between new year celebration, birthday or anti tobacco day celebration. We celebrate birthdays and marriage anniversaries out of pleasure and to share our happiness and feelings. But when it comes to Anti Tobacco Day celebration or World Environment Day Celebration it is a pledge to quit smoking, adapt a healthy lifestyle and preserve our environment. Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) forms Eco Club for clean and green campus
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) forms Eco club to keep the college and hostel premises clean. Efforts will be made to produce minimum waste. The main aim of the program was to create awareness among students about environment.
Eco club will be working on rain water harvesting, e-waste recycling and plantations in the long run. Plans are also to put up separate dustbins for biodegradable and recyclable waste in the college campus especially near hostels.
Ban on selling chinese Manja in the city
Chinese Manja has been banned for selling at Nagpur. The manja is glass coated and is not easily breakable thus it stays in the environment for long and causes lots of damage to our environment. Birds entangled in these manja dies as it cannot free itself. Sometimes these manja causes injury to human beings as they are very thin and not visible from a distance. This Season of flying kites is the time for all manja related mishaps.
Biomedical waste in community bin. Who is responsible ?
After KRIMS it is Shanti Prabha Hospital staff which was caught dumping bio medical waste in community bin. A shameful act. These biomedical waste are hazardous to the environment and life. Hospitals being aware of this are still carrying on dumping their waste in city bins when NMC has deployed special vans for carrying these biomedical wastes daily.
Biomedical waste consists of used syringes, blood stained cotton and other medical equipments used in treatment. Now Nagpur Municipal Corporation health officials have issued notice to Dr Satyanarayan Agarwal. He has to respond within 24 hrs.
