Nagpur Metro Rail plan submitted by DMRC

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has submitted detailed project report for the 42 km long metro rail in Nagpur city. Total cost of project will be around 10,000 crore.

“Metro rail will take the city’s public transport system to a new level. DF government is very keen to make the metro rail a success in the city. The budgetary provisions will play a crucial role as the project requires huge funds,” Moghe said.

NIT chairman Praveen Darade has indicated that project will start in 2013 itself, if things so smoothly.

Maharashtra clears ways for Nagpur Metro Rail project

Maharashtra cabinet on Wednesday approved gave nod to the Sitabuldi – Airport – Butibori Nagpur Metro railway project.

During the 2011 Winter Session in Nagpur, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan announced to support the Metro Rail project in Nagpur. Union Minister Kamal Nath assured that Nagpur will have its Metro soon.

On Wednesday, while approving the Pune Metro Rail, the Maharahstra cabinet also cleared way for Nagpur’s Metro Project. Maharahstra cabinet has asked for detailed report.

Nagpur Metro Rail by 2016: Mahrashtra Government

Maharashtra Government approved proposal to build 25 KM long Metro Rail in Nagpur.

The first phase will include route from Sitabuldi to Butibori via Mihan, 25 KM total distance. Metro rail will not be fully underground, but will run partly on an elevated corridor and the remaining will be on-ground. The project will cost around Rs 1,250 crore

NIT and NMC collaborate to repair pot holes of city road

Nagpur Improvement Trust and Nagpur Municipal Corporation have collaborated to repair road from Automotive Square to Rani Durgawati square. The road developed large pot holes due to non maintenance since several years. The repairing of road is sure to provide relief to road users.

Repairing of roads would cost Rs 40 Lakhs. This is a temporary solution. For good strength the road needs to be resurfaced which will need Rs 3 Crores. Nagpur Municipal Corporation has approached the state government for funds.
