It has not been more than 2 years since load shedding ended. We all were happy that at last Nagpur city will not face load shedding. Though it houses many power plants but still it faces hardships of load shedding the reason given by MSEDCL and Spanco is losses. Is there no loss of power when the power gets distributed from Nagpur to the adjoining cities. Is it below permissible limits at they make their own limits and take their own decisions. Power is the basic necessity after food, clothing and shelter. How can we all get deprived of power because of losses above certain limits.

Nagpurians be prepared for power cuts from the month of August 2012
It really sounds like a nightmare when ever i hear or read about power cuts. I got hold of today’s newspaper early in the morning and the first thing i could read was power cuts from the month of August. Power cuts causes lots of problems especially to offices. You need to install the whole system of battery and UPS to get uninterrupted power or the whole office work gets halted.
Spanco to open one centre to cater to all Consumer needs at Nagpur
Spanco has set up a consumer centre at Wardhaman Nagar which will cater to all problems of consumers. Consumers will not need to visit different offices for different work but they can come to one centre and get solution to all their problems. The centre will be functional in 10 days time. This office will look after all services like billing, breakdown and metering complaints, bill payment, new service connections, increase in connected load, etc.
Spanco brings smiles to face of families of Chikhli slum
Spanco lighted up houses of 500 families of Chikhli slum near Kalamna in a single day. 480 meters were installed in a single day, a record in itself. Previously the slum had no legal connection and slum dwellers used hooks for getting electricity at their homes. Spanco solved the problem by erecting more new poles and additional transformer to cater to the demands of the slum.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation to hand over water work to Orange City Water Limited
Orange City Water Limited (OCWL) to take over water work from Nagpur Municipal Corporation from Monday. A lot of NMC workers are not ready to work for OCWL and they have declared Monday as ‘Black Day’.
NMC, Nagpur Environmental Services Ltd (NESL) and OCWL had entered into a agreement on November 17. According to the agreement OCWL will take up entire work of water treatment plants and billing for a span of 25 years. OCWL will also work on 24×7 water supply project. NMC employees have objected to work with OCWL.
