No Air ticket booking for Spice Jet from 1st June 2012

Spice Jet has stopped booking air tickets from 1st June 2012. Spice Jet operates daily flights to Delhi and Bangalore. Some months back Kingfisher airlines stopped flights to Hyderabad and indore and it seems its is now turn of Spice jet.

Travel agents have been asked not to book spice jet ticket from 1st June 2012. It hints that spice jet is planning to wind its operation from Nagpur. The airline had good response in the Delhi and Bangalore route inspite of competition with Indigo, Air India and Go Air.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport receives Airport Authority of India Chairman’s award

Nagpur Airport receives special Airport Authority of India (AAI) Chairman’s Award for installation of new system called Indra. This system allows airport officials to connect with the aircraft. It increase the efficiency and reduces chances of mishaps and error by humans. The new system will connect aircraft to air traffic control (ATC) department and help it gain height if it is coming down to avoid collision in the air. It will save 1.28 crore litres of fuel every year.

Monkey menace at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport

Animals love airport runway and they frequently visit the runway. Pigs, deer, rabbits were already causing the menace on Nagpur airport, now the new addition is monkeys. A group of 70 monkeys moving on the runway of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport prevented landing of Mumbai-Nagpur-Kolkata flight on time and the flight had to be diverted to Hyderabad.

Mihan India Limited (MIL) has decided to appoint animal trappers. The security system used to scare animals is not fully functional.
Some stern measures needs to be deployed before it is too late and accidents makes headlines.

KingFisher Airlines to shut down flights from Nagpur City to Hyderabad and Indore. The airline is facing financial crisis so it will stop operating in non profitable routes and continue its flight in profitable routes.

KingFisher crisis is a boon to other airlines operator in the city like Spice Jet and jet lite which are flying full load and will continue the same till KingFisher resumes its operation in the city.

MSRTC to run Semi- luxury buses in Nagpur – Hyderabad route

Deepak Kapoor, Managing Director MSRTC has taken a decision to run A/C volvo buses in the Nagpur – Hyderabad route. According to him lots of private players are running in this route and making profit. He stated, starting a bus in this route will be profitable.

MSRTC will also operate in two other new routes from Mumbai to Udaipur, pune to surat and Ahmedabad. It is also planning to start AC buses from Mumbai to Goa from 15th December 2011.

Kingfisher canceled flights from Nagpur to Hyderabad and Indore till 19th November 2011

All passengers who had booked tickets in Kingfisher airlines between 8th November to 19th November had to either cancel there travel plans or reschedule their tickets by bus, another airlines or railways. Kingfisher had suddenly canceled the flights from Nagpur to Hyderabad and Indore without prior notice.

According to sources Kingfisher airlines is facing financial crunch. This is the main reason behind scraping of 30 flights across the nation.

Kingfisher’s adversity has served as a boon for other airline operators like Spice Jet which is flying full load in the same route.
