Ganesh Chaturthi

During the Ganeshchaturthi festival, clay idols of Ganesha are specially prepared and most families in Maharashtra install an idol for periods varying from two days to eleven days.

Idols in different colours, shapes, shizes with different expressions are made. Various thermocol mandirs are also made.These Mandirs are for keeping Ganesh idols in it for Puja archana.

During this festive season everyone comes out of their house to celebrate the festival of joy.

Ganeshchaturthi festival is celebrated through out india. It is celebrated only for 2 to 3 days in other parts. It is only in Maharashtra that this festival is celebrated in full enthusiasm.

During this festival Lord Ganesh is worshipped in the morning and evening. Aarti is done two times. In various places differnet functions are organised by the local people to enjoy the festival to the fullest.

When the festival ends the idols of Ganesha are immersed in water, called “VISARJAN”.
