3 Day Robo – Olympics competition at Raman Science Centre from 1st February 2012

Raman Science Centre (RSC) along with ilabs is organizing 3 day Robot making and racing contest for students. The event will hold competitions like robo – race and e- handi. All students interested in science from 5th standard onwards can be a part of the event. The event is aimed at assessing the designing, mechanical, electronic and computing skills of students who are above 12 years of age.

The general public can visit the program between 11 AM – 5 PM while the exhibition will be open between 1 PM – 5 PM.

Statutory body members slams Nagpur University top bosses for stinking dirty toilets

Statutory body had slammed Nagpur University (NU) Vice-Chancellor Vilas Sapkal and Registrar Mahesh Yenkie for dirty smelling toilets. After used condoms were found in the toilets of Nagpur University campus cleanliness issue has been raised. According to the VC he had no idea of things happening around him. NU Vice Chancellor was enjoying his posh chamber and never took pains to come out of it and check what was going on in the campus.

Nagpur Municipal Corporation Schools converted in to cattle sheds

NMC (Nagpur Municipal Corporation) schools where students should receive education has been converted in to cattle sheds and a place for fabrication. School is a place for teachers and students but it seems lack of proper studying facilities have led to the conversion of these schools in to a place for animals. The matter came to forefront when the inspection was carried by Dayashankar Tiwari. NMC’s Tukaram Lanjewar Vidyalaya at Gaddigodam had been converted into a cattle shed as Tiwari found lots of animals tied inside the premises.

Police personnel deployed near lakes to prevent suicide

It is a common incidence for students to attempt suicide as soon as the results get declared. It is very disheartening to know that today’s youth do not know how to cope up with the stress created by poor performance or less than expected results. City Police Chief, Ankush Dhanvjay has deployed police personnel near Gandhisagar, Telangkhedi, and Ambazari lakes to prevent suicides. They will catch someone who is trying to take his/her own life. The situation is really alarming as parents spend their hard earned money on their children and hence their expectations rises.

Students of Shri Shankarprasad Agnihotri College of Engineering invent Hybrid Solar Tricycle

A hybrid solar tricycle has been invented by students of Shri Shankarprasad Agnihotri College of Engineering for physically challenged people under the guidance of professor Vikram Pakhale.

It is solar operated tricycle which will run by solar energy but will run on battery in the absence of sunlight. The students made the model on the concept of French scientist Venturi who made hybrid solar vehicle.

Government to take action against mushrooming illegal colleges

Government will take action against increased illegal colleges which makes long promises but do not fulfill them. The course curriculum and all the standards will be checked or it will be declared illegal. The college should be AICTE approved, state government approved etc. If no approvals are taken and the college has no affiliation then it should clearly mention this at the time of advertisement or strict action will be taken against them.
