Supreme court does not gives nod to online counseling of Pre-medical/ Dental Test

Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) will start offline counseling once the AIPMT (All India Premedical Test) results are declared.
1st round of Offline counseling of Pre-Medical/ Dental Test will start from 11th June and 2nd round from 27th July 2012.

Main counseling centre will be in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Actual candidates should come for counseling. If anyone was caught impersonating actual candidates then they will be subject to legal punishment under IPC (Indian Penal Code).

A new move by IMA and NMC to help hospitals gain NOC certificate

After fire breakout at Care Hospital and Kolkata based hospital it was made compulsory for hospitals to gain NOC certificate from fire department or their affiliation would be canceled. Indian Medical Association (IMA) is seeking help from NMC (Nagpur Municipal Corporation) and Fire department to ensure every hospital is aware of the safety norms.

NOC from fire department compulsory for running private hospitals

Due to recent fire mishap at Care Hospital, Nagpur and a hospital in Kolkata now NOC from fire department is compulsory for running private hospitals.

Dr Milind Ganvir, deputy director for Health said that so far fire NOC was not compulsory for issuing licenses. The fire NOC is compulsory only when the nursing home building is fire storeyed and above.

Bishop Cotton High School ( BCS) delays its 150 – years anniversary celebration

Bishop George Cotton who is the founder of the BCS started the school in the year 1862 at Nagpur to build a strong education network in the country. He started first school at Shimla ( 1859 ), second at Nagpur and third at Bangalore in the year 1865. Due to unclear records of his place of death his grave cannot be located which leads to delay in celebration of the 150 – years at the school in Nagpur. The school websites and Wikipedia expresses different views.

Travel bills rising at Nagpur Municipal Corporation with price rise in India

Nagpur Municipal corporation officers have claimed travel bills worth Rs 95 Lakhs in 4 years. The travel bill covers Mayor & other office bearers bill. Rs 20 Lac was allotted to travel expenses in the year 2006 – 2007. The amount increased to Rs 30 Lac/ year in 2007 – 2008 and then to Rs 40 Lac/ year.
