‘KHANAN’ mourns sad demise of Sunil Gangopadhyay

On the concluding morn of Durgapuja, Khanan, the creative little magazine of the city mourns the untimely demise of legend Editor of the cult little magazine Kirtibas and the prominent poet and novelist of the decade Sri Sunil Gangopadhyay. Sri Gangopadhyay was a regular reader of Khanan and his intimate association with Khanan was remembered in the book stall of Khanan.

Few days back the festive issue of ‘Khanan’, had been released during Debipaksha 1419. The rich volume of Khanan, 32nd of its kind, has been ably edited by Sukumar Choudhuri.

Work is on to welcome the post-150-years-glorious-session of Bangla Sonnets. An offbeat collection of contemporary Bangla Sonnets blended with witty humour and art work may also be released by Diwali.

A galaxy of poets, writers and enthusiasts partiicipated in the literary jaunt and visited the bookstall of ‘Khanan’ at Paschim Nagpur Sarbojanin Puja Mandap, behind Ram Mandir at Ram Nagar Square and enjoyed puja as well as addas throughout Debipaksha .
Khanan, the pride of Vidarbha, has so far published 31 volumes of Journals, 80 Multilingual Bulletins and 23 books on different themes. All the above publications were made available in the stall for the enthusiasts, informs Ranjit Acharya, the Publisher of Khanan.
