Religious significance of Mahalaxmi Puja
Yudhishtira asked Lord Krishna to point out a vratha to be observed through which he can get back everything that was lost during the gambling games with Kauravas. Subsequently, Mahalaxmi Vrata was stated by Krishna to Yudhistira. He said that this is the only vrata to seek the blessings of the Goddess who can provide the performer with wealth, health, children, family and prosperity.
