Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is geared up to take stern measures against all illegal and unauthorized constructions in the city along with old and weak buildings. After inspection of the building, notice will be issued to the owners and they will have to pull down the unauthorized structure within a time period. If the person does not follows the rules he will be fined and imprisoned. This is being done for safety of nagpurians so that no more death occurs due to collapse of weak buildings.

Non compliance to the rules can lead to imprisonment for a period of 3 months to 3 years and a fine of Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000.
After anti encroachment drive and decision for demolition of illegal religious structure this is a major step by NMC to check unauthorized construction and avoid occupancy of weak buildings.
