Vipin Itankar of Nagpur tops in UPSC from Maharashtra state

Vipin Itankar, a Nagpurian, has topped the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) from Maharashtra state. The UPSC results was declared on Thursday 12th June 2014. He secured 14th All India Rank.

Service (IAS),”.


Vipin Itankar, a Nagpurian, has topped the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) from Maharashtra state. The UPSC results was declared on Thursday 12th June 2014. He secured 14th All India Rank.

Happy Vipin said “It’s a dream come true as I was trying for it ever since I graduated from IGGMC in 2008. I now aspire to join the prestigious Indian Administrative
Service (IAS),”.

“My wife and mother supported me since the beginning. This was my fourth attempt. In the first attempt, I had reached the interview level. I always believed in hard work, which is the only secret of my success. I arrived at Chandigarh after getting a job here in 2010. I had not joined coaching classes but took guidance from a Chandigarh academy,” he said.

Vipin Itankar is a doctor from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC). At present Vipin Itankar is working at GMC, Chandigarh.

Apart from Vipin, few other Nagpurians were successful in passing the UPSC. Dr Aawesh Titarmare secured 469 AIR; Arpit Gudadhe, an engineer from Yashwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE) with 922 AIR, and Ankur Meshram, a graduate from Nuva College of Engineering and Technology, at 1,084 AIR.
