It really sounds like a nightmare when ever i hear or read about power cuts. GAIL (Gas Authority of India) will set up a pipeline from Surat to Paradip. The pipeline will pass through Nagpur. It will be a big boon for industries located in central India as they will get clean fuel. Apart from Nagpur the pipeline will pass through Wardha, Amravati and Bhandara.
Medical Council of India (MCI) has decided to de-recognize Private and Government colleges with staff less than the laid guidelines. The reports are online on the MCI website where it has listed colleges with less staff. These colleges have to complete the recruitment process and comply by all the rules and regulations of MCI. Colleges which are staff deficient are Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College, Yavatmal, and GMCs at Nanded, Dhule and Ambejogai. In Vidarbha, JN Medical College & Sawangi Meghe, Wardha are staff deficient.
Motorists crossing red signal or stop lines or engaged in rash driving will be fined Rs 600 by Traffic Police. The direction came from DCP (Traffic) Jivraj Dabhade. Anyone caught driving while speaking on mobile phone will also be fined as they put others life at risk. The offenders will be booked under section 184 of Motor Vehicle Act.
Nagzira Wild Life Sanctuary situated in Gondia has installed solar powered water holes to avoid hassles of filling regular water for drinking purpose of animals. The project was implemented by Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA), Pune.
OCWL (Orange City Water Limited) has started the work of replacing old pipelines with new ones. This will solve contaminated water problems of nagpurians residing in places where the pipelines are very old. These old pipelines are rusted and are leaking which leads to water contamination and hence water borne disease like diarrhea and fever.
To stop corruption and increase revenue from octroi collection Nagpur Municipal corporation (NMC) is planning to install X-ray machines at Octroi check posts i.e all entry points into the city. The scanners will help officials collect the Octroi accurately from loaded trucks and auto rickshaws. No one will be able to fool the octroi officials. In the current situation to check the load of covered vehicles the officials had to tap the vehicle and check the pressure of shock absorbers to calculate octroi. Many vehicles paid less octroi as the system is not very efficient.
Anna Hazare was in Nagpur on 16th May 2012. He is always in news due to Lokpal bill and his anshans to get corrections in various clauses of Lokpal bill. The vehicle which was accompanying Anna Hazare was attacked. Anna was saved as he was not in the vehicle and the vehicle was carrying books published by Anna Hazare's NGO.
