Yeah you wont believe me that we Indians are very much happy with the myths and fantasies we carry. They are prevalent till today i.e 21st century and we have not yet dumped them though we might be placed at the top in our work. Now the question arises as to why we are happy with the myths we carry ?

Now the question arises as to why we are happy with the myths we carry ? The answer is that we just want to get rid of the problem and stick to the solution which our ancestors followed or it will bring bad luck or ill fate. Visit an indian house and you are bound to find something handing near the door to drive away evil spirits and maintain peace at home. It may be an idol of God Ganesha, A tied up pumpkin in black cloth or Lemon and green chillies tied up in black thread dangling near the door. Its not known how much good happen after doing these, but we follow this as its knowledge was handed over to us by our grand parents and our own parents too.
My mom used to say never ever cross the road when you see a black cat crossing the road. Let someone cross and then only you follow or it will lead to accident. I follow it till today. Some people find it ridiculous but those who believe, they believe it from heart. Most common noticed thing is to drive out bad spirits from ones body i.e bad nazar by rotating chilli, salt and mustard seed and throw it somewhere outside our house to drive away bad spirits which might have entered a persons body. I follow it as my daughter gets struck by bad nazar all the time and i have to drive away those bad spirits.
Never allow the milk to fall from the kettle in the morning or your whole day will be ruined. People suffering from sprain get their body cured if someone is born with leg first and not his head when coming out of mothers womb.
See there are many such myths its all upon us whether we want to follow them or keep them away feeling that they are useless dogmatic principles. I am not sure whether some magic or miracle happens but it solves problems thats why they are followed till today and we are happy following them.
