Government Medical College and hospital hostels are not fit for staying. Interns face a lot of problem due to dirty floors, bad condition of rooms, lack of proper clean drinking water, poor sanitation problem and lack of proper lighting in rooms and corridors. The students have reported the matter but are yet to be heard.

The students complain of lack of proper food facilities in the hostel premises and they have to depend on dabbawallahs for food. Water from toilets overflows and remains jammed. They even tried hiring a cleaner for their premises but failed due to too much work load on a single person. The mess lacks proper sitting facilities for all students as there are less chairs.

Hostel warden and superintendent of the hospital Dr Arun Humne said he was aware of the situation and has send a proposal to the authorities and once it is accepted the life of interns will get better at the hostel premises.
