There has been a marked reduce in patients visiting Government Medical College and Hostel (GMCH) due to lack of basic amenities in hospital premises. There is lack of basic drugs, syringes, plasters and advanced surgical equipments. Patients face lots of problems due to lack of proper medicines.
People visit other hospitals rather than opting for GMCH as they feel more safe at the other place. Surgical dealers have stopped supplying goods to the hospital due to a big outstanding bill.
Government Medical College and hospital hostels are not fit for staying. Interns face a lot of problem due to dirty floors, bad condition of rooms, lack of proper clean drinking water, poor sanitation problem and lack of proper lighting in rooms and corridors. The students have reported the matter but are yet to be heard.
Nagpur is having a very unpredictable weather this year 2012. You never know when there will be rains, cold winds and hot weather. It was very sunny and hot yesterday but the weather is totally changed with clouds today i.e Wednesday on 8th February 2012.
