Increase cases of drunken driving on the day of Holi on 8th March 2012

Police Chief Ankush Dhanvijay has warned Nagpurians about drunken driving many times since the start of 2012. But on the day of festival Holi more than 500 cases of drunken driving were registered. The number has outnumbered cases of drunken driving on New year eve.

Nagpur Janta who did not take the warning seriously were heavily fined. The fine amount has been increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 10,000 and accused can be imprisoned from 6 months to 4 years in jail. Next time think twice before driving your vehicle if you are in a drunken state. This is for your safety and those around you who might meet with an accident because of your wrong move.
