This project will be financed by the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) and the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO).

The development work is expected to commence by January 2013. And the metro will be fully functional by December 2016. Maharashtra State government is expecting the project to be executed smoothly.

Hopefully this will be reality for Nagpurians in the given time frame. We have seen many small projects being dragged for no reason – one example of Ram Jhula over Nagpur Railway station.
