The scanners will help officials collect the Octroi accurately from loaded trucks and auto rickshaws. No one will be able to fool the octroi officials. In the current situation to check the load of covered vehicles the officials had to tap the vehicle and check the pressure of shock absorbers to calculate octroi. Many vehicles paid less octroi as the system is not very efficient.

According to a senior official X-ray machine will really help Octroi staff but it will only be successful if it is efficiently used. NMC wants to give the contract to Vidarbha Infotech Company. The company will operate on Build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis.
