Gadchiroli Gondwana University to conduct two day meet for tribals on Livelihood from 18th January 2013

Academicians throughout the country will gather at Gadchiroli Gondwana University to discuss ways of creating livelihood for tribals residing at Gadchiroli. The two day workshop will start from 18th January and conclude on 19th January 2013. The workshop is being conducted with the help of Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (RGSTC), Government of Maharashtra, Indian Institute of Technology, Powai, and Forest Department.


Academicians throughout the country will gather at Gadchiroli Gondwana University to discuss ways of creating livelihood for tribals residing at Gadchiroli. The two day workshop will start from 18th January and conclude on 19th January 2013. The workshop is being conducted with the help of Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (RGSTC), Government of Maharashtra, Indian Institute of Technology, Powai, and Forest Department.

At the end of the workshop the panel of experts will decide about what needs to be done for economically helping the tribals. The most viable project will be funded by RGSTC. Well known experts like Professors Anantpuram G Rao and Milind A. Sohoni of IIT, chief conservator of forests, Gadchiroli circle, TSK Reddy, Dilip Peshwe from VNIT-Nagpur, Sunil Deshpande of Sampoorna Bamboo Kendra, Melghat, and Dr Abhay Bang of SEARCH, Gadchiroli, will be participating in the two day event. This workshop is being conducted to stop migration of tribals to other places for livelihood.
