Tejas S from Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Nagpur selected for semifinals of HDFC life’s Spell Bee

Tejas S from Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Civil lines, Nagpur has emerged as winner of India’s biggest spelling contest HDFC life Spell Bee. He will now compete with Shreya Kanungo from Somalwar Nikalas School in the semifinals whose education partner is NIE. “HDFC Life Spell Bee India Spells 2013” is the Indian version of highly acclaimed Scripps National Spelling Bee, USA.

This spelling contest is being conducted in 35 cities and Nagpur is one of them. Top 16 scorers will compete with each other in the grand finals of HDFC Life Spell Bee to be held in Mumbai in the month of February.

The city final was hosted by RJ Jia of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM and the chief guest for the event was former Mayor of Nagpur, Archana Dehankar.

The winner will win prize money worth Rs 2 Lakhs and a trip to Washington DC along with parents to see Scripps National Spelling Bee live.
