Academicians throughout the country will gather at Gadchiroli Gondwana University to discuss ways of creating livelihood for tribals residing at Gadchiroli. The two day workshop will start from 18th January and conclude on 19th January 2013. The workshop is being conducted with the help of Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission (RGSTC), Government of Maharashtra, Indian Institute of Technology, Powai, and Forest Department.
Melghat
Mega Tiger estimation exercise from 2nd to 7th February 2012
Tiger census i.e counting of tigers will start from 2nd to 7th February 2012 in four tiger reserves: Tadoba-Andhari, Pench, Melghat and Sahyadri and their buffer areas. Tiger-bearing sanctuaries like Bor, Nagzira, Navegaon and Mansingdeo will also be included.
The tiger reserves will not remain closed during the exercise and entry for tourists will be delayed.
