Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon day (Pournima) in the month of Chaitra. Chaitra month starts with festivals like Gudi Padwa then Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti and Hanuman Jayanti. Every festival has its own significance and is celebrated through out India. On the day of Hanuman Jayanti many people organize Mahaprasad to welcome the birth of lord Hanuman. A lot of devotees donate food grains for Mahaprasad. It really feels great sitting and dining together with a big crowd. It is a very sacred feeling and can be felt by everyone with a pure heart.

Happy Mahavir Jayanti

Jain community celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir as Mahavir Jayanti. It is sacred festival of Jain community and they celebrate it by taking out processions. Jain community comes together and celebrate this festival with family and friends. They worship, dine and have fun.

This day is marked as government holiday so banks, schools, colleges and all government run institutions remains closed on this day in India.
