Traffic congestion due to unauthorized vegetable vendors is a common problem. They are removed by anti-encroachment squad and they come back again. Reason ? They have no place to go and they have no options but to run their shop for a living. Dayashankar Tiwari has proposed to set 25 state-of-art vegetable markets in the city. These markets will have a parking space for vehicles, lavatory, electric supply, vendor platforms and benches. This will stop unauthorized vendors from flocking the road side and causing traffic jam.

NMC is facing huge loss due to failed registration of city hawkers. Unauthorized hawkers are growing in the city which causes lots of trouble to the moving traffic. NMC has incurred a loss of Rs 4.99 crores.
