An Women Entrepreneur is a person who treads her own path and carves a niche for herself in the society. It takes a lot of guts and courage to become and entrepreneur. There are high risks involved and an unpredictable future. If its an woman she has to balance all fronts – her family, children, friends and Business or Enterprise. Its a big challenge for her. There are a lot of setbacks which she has to over come when she wants to do something of her own. She has to prove her self to her family then only she is allowed to move forward. A woman who wants to do something apart from home making can always go for entrepreneurship. She can work from home. She can run a website, run a small institute, or sell home made products from home. We have got a very famous example of Jashwantiben Popat – a woman who gathered other women and founded Sri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad (SMGULP) which employs 42, 000 members and has got a turnover of Rs 300 Crores. She is now 80 years old and spotted the opportunity of making Lijjat papad 40 years ago. She received – “THE ECONOMIC TIMES AWARDS FOR CORPORATE EXCELLENCE” in the year 2002, Whirlpool Gr8! Women Awards 2004 in the “Social Services” category. A great and unbelievable achievement of a woman. Its the dream which we see and follow with lots of hard work and farsightedness which matters. Things start small but they become big if we dream big.

Another example of a Successful business woman is – Dr. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw founded Biocon India with a capital of Rs. 10,000/- in her garage in 1978. The initial operation was to extract an enzyme from papaya. Her application for loans were turned down but she had the courage to move forward and take Biocon to great heights. She was regarded as India’s richest woman with an estimated worth of Rs. 2,100 crore. She has received the most prestigious award PADMASHRI (1989) and PADMA BHUSHAN (2005).

I would like to cite another example of a great business woman i.e Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi. She is the Chief Executive officer of Pepsico, one of the worlds leading food and beverage company. She had to struggle a lot at the start of her career but she never looked back and reached great heights of glory. She too had to face lot of difficulties in balancing work and family but she faced all odds and reached great heights. In 2009 she was listed in “ The worlds 100 most powerful woman”. She received Padma Bhusan in the year 2007.

There are lots of difficulties at the start of the new venture. A lot of people will even mock at you. But its you who has to remain focused and determined to do what you really want to do. There is no single person in this whole universe who got something big without facing any troubles. Failures will always be there but that does not means that there is no hope for the future. Failures should make you more strong to face the problem so that at last you win. Problems will come and go but its we who has to sort it out and believe that yes we can.

Difficulties and unfavorable situation will come and go but we have to face the situation with a “never say die “ approach. People did great things not by sitting comfortably but by walking that extra mile which others never thought of. Let us all prepare ourselves for a better tomorrow, work hard and get recognized as one of the leading ladies.
