Cultural organization Spic Macay has planned a busy calendar for rural schools in small districts. The program is named “Virasat”. It has started from 8th July and will continue till 23rd August 2012. The program will have lecture demonstrations from artists like Geeta Mahalik, Ronu Mazumdar, Kushal Das and Vishwamohan Bhatt in schools of Akola, Amravati, Buldana, Chikli, Wardha and Yavatmal.

CBSE declared results of AIEEE
Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE) has declared All India Engineering entrance Exam (AIEEE) results on Saturday night.
AIEEE conducted both online and offline exams this year 2012 to make the candidates habituated with online mode of exam. Nagpur was the only online centre along with other chosen cities. Amravati was the nearest offline exam centre near Nagpur so most of the candidates preferred the offline mode of exam as this was the first time AIEEE was going online. Few took risk and appeared for online exam at Nagpur.
Gas Authority of India Limited pipeline to pass through Nagpur
GAIL (Gas Authority of India) will set up a pipeline from Surat to Paradip. The pipeline will pass through Nagpur. It will be a big boon for industries located in central India as they will get clean fuel. Apart from Nagpur the pipeline will pass through Wardha, Amravati and Bhandara.
Amravati district chops 30 trees for security of President
Near Achalpur in Amravati 25 – 30 trees were chopped to ensure security of president Pratibha Patil visit to the district to inaugurate Finlay Mills. The president was to visit the district on December 12, 2011 but her arrival has been postponed.
But the damaged tress will take time to grow or they may just die. The trees were very old and were cut for safety reasons. The trees were chopped to increase visibility of surrounding areas.
AIEEE 2012 exam going online at Nagpur
All India Engineering Entrance Exam ( AIEEE ) 2012 is going online only at Nagpur. Rest of the part will be following the offline pen and paper mode of examination. Many coaching institutes have advised their students to go for offline mode as the 2012 examination will be in a testing phase. Everyone is aware of the problems faced by online CAT examination. They feel with the passage of time things will run smooth and the system will settle down for conducting online examination. The nearest center for appearing for offline exam is Amravati, which is quiet convenient for nagpurians.
