Nagpurians got a big relief from the drop in winter temperature after 14th January i.e Makar Sankranti. The nights got less colder and there was a sigh of relief from chilling cold weather which made nagpurians stay indoors during night. The afternoon temperature has risen considerably now and very few people will be seen with sweaters and shawls.
The month of May brought more heat waves to the city. The temperature was recorded to be 43.2 degrees centigrade. The temperature is going to increase by the end of the month. Hot weather and harsh summer is the weather prediction by the meteorological department.
Nagpurians need to take appropriate precautionary measures to save themselves from the scorching summer heat and sun stroke.
Nagpur is hottest in the month of April and May. But in 2012 the April season has started with showers of rain, so the temperature has not rose beyond acceptable limits and meteorological department predicts the temperature to be at 40 degrees centigrade or below that. Thanks to the moisture laden winds that brought relief to nagpurians.
Wednesday recorded its lowest minimum temperature of the season at 11.6 Degree Celsius. The meteorological department has predicted further dip in temperature after which it will rise again.
The weather is chilling as Christmas and New Year is approaching. The buzzword is either kill the chill and move out or stay indoors and be warm.
