Demand for gearless scooters ( driven mostly by women ) has raised at nagpur. The festive season has widened the gap between demand and supply. Motorcycles are less in demand. Gearless scooters are seen as a family vehicle. With the constant increase in petrol prices gearless scooters are being preferred by working people instead of car.

Though the mileage of motorcycle is better than a gearless scooter but the demand is less. Mileage of gearless scooter is 50 Kms/ litre as compared to motorcycle which gives average of 75 Kms/ Litre. The high end bike at the range of Rs 60,000 and above are in demand.
Major manufacturers in gearless scooters are Honda, Hero Motors, TVS, mahindra and Suzuki Motors. The waiting period of vehicles range from 20 days to one month. Though the demand has increased but the supply is yet same as it will require big infrastructure for increased production. They hope that demand will normalize after the festive season.
Gearless scooters are preferred as it can be driven by the whole family as compared to motorcycle. It is time for the manufacturers of these scooters to be happy as they will be making huge profits and bring more advancement in the vehicle in the long run.
