We have already heard of Nagpur Municipal Corporation anti encroachment drive to clean footpaths and roads to provide space for parking and walking. Now the demolition drive is against commercial establishments which have extended illegally in to public places and have extended their shop beyond limits by constructing shed and walls. The anti encroachment drive is supervised by civic chief Sanjeev Jaiswal and Police chief Ankush Dhanvijay. The walls and sheds will be removed and stern action will be taken against encroachers so that they do not encroach the land again.
In a drive to provide parking space to Nagpurians Civic chief Sanjeev Jaiswal and Police Commissioner Ankush Dhanvijay have joined hands to take action against encroachers and provide parking space to people. Most of the time parking spaces are not available due to encroachments by daily vendors. These vendors block footpaths and parking space.
Dharampeth road on which Traffic park is situated is crowded with vendors, moving traffic and parked vehicles. Nagpurians come here with family and friends to have fun out of home, pass time and have some food. The place outside the traffic park throngs several vendors ranging from panipuri, chaat, sandwhich, Dhabeli and pizzas. People come here to have fun and enjoy the food. But the problem is the busy road poses threat to passers by so the question is, should the Dharampeth road where traffic park is situated be converted in to food road on sundays ?
Earlier the team at Nagpurpulse.com reported that Kasturchand Park had lost its glory due to accumulation of garbage and fowl smell. Now there is a new twist in the story. It is being used for commercial purposes just to generate revenue.
The PWD is entrusted with the responsibility to maintain it and NMC to clean it but lots of garbage can be seen near the ground. Many vendors run their shop near the ground. It cannot be used for playing purposes due to its present dilapidated stage. It is just used for hosting exhibitions and other events which generates revenue.
