Illegal religious structures to get demolished in Nagpur

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is likely to demolish Illegal religious structures after getting directives from Supreme court. Illegal structures which disrupts smooth flow of traffic will be demolished. NMC has identified 1279 illegal religious structures of which it has decided to demolish 464 and fate of rest will be decided after receiving public opinion like suggestions and objections. Demolition of few structures might cause public outrage and make the situation tense so the decision to demolish them will be taken after getting public opinion.

Food and Drug Association seized 1,500 Kg of Mangoes from Nagpur

FDA (Food and Drug Association) has seized 1,500 Kg of mangoes worth Rs 90,000 from kalamna Market, Nagpur. Previously Mangoes worth Rs 1 Lac were seized and destroyed by FDA officials as Calcium carbide was used to ripen the fruit. The chemical if consumed in large quantity can cause health hazards. The news was highlighted by Nagpurpulse.com team. This is second incidence in which FDA officials have caught traders red handed with mangoes ripened artificially using Calcium Carbide.

Wildlife Sanctuaries to remain open in monsoon this year

Pravin Pardeshi, principal secretary of forest department has initiated discussions with PCCF Wildlife (Maharashtra) to keep wildlife sanctuaries open in monsoon season this year. Only Tadoba Andheri Tiger Reserve (TATR) remained open in monsoon while other parks were closed.

Opening of national parks in the monsoon season will help protect wild animals as tourist can also inform guard if they find something unusual happening around them. No tourist vehicles will be allowed inside the park but only forest vehicles will be used for movement inside the park.

Amitabh Bachchan Foundation gives financial assistance to farmers of Wardha

Rotary club of Wardha cleared loans worth Rs 29 Lakhs of wardha farmers. Banks were not ready to give them loan as a result they had to seek loan from private party. The situation would get out of control when these farmers committed suicide when they were unable to repay the loan.

Rotary club of Mumbai organized a program in which debt of 114 farmers were cleared, the fund was received from Amitabh Bachchan Foundation. Rotary club was also teaching the framers organic farming so that they used funds properly in the right direction.

Drive at 35 KM/Hour and get all 14 signals green from Kamptee road to Wardha road at Nagpur

In order to reduce vehicle congestion on high traffic roads like Automotive Chowk on Kamptee Road to Pride Hotel T-point on Wardha Road, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has come up with the innovative idea of turning all signals green if a person drives at the speed of 35 KM/Hour. If a person drives fast he will reach the signal early and find it red.

Old signals lacks synchronization and hence causes piling up of traffic. NMC is trying to replace all old signals into new led based signals as it consumes less electricity and the installation cost is low.

Nagpur has been declared polio free. Even India has been removed from the list of Polio Endemic Nations by World Health Organization. Nagpur has remained polio free since 6 years and the credit goes to Government and NGO’s which took up the work to make Nagpur Polio free. Several volunteers, Indian Medical Association, Rotary Club and many others made the drive successful.
